Medway Council are once again preparing for snow, and this includes their ‘Snow Warden’ scheme. They have allocated enough resources to equip 20 voluntary Snow wardens in Cuxton.
Within this scheme, each warden is allocated a section of pavement to clear near their home, creating safer walkways for all residents. Each snow warden is provided with a snow shovel, a high viz jacket, gloves, 25kg of salt and a salt spreader.
The only requirement to become a snow warden is that you are reasonably fit and healthy, and do not have any health conditions that would exclude you from the scheme.
If you would be prepared to clear part of the pavement near you, then please contact the Parish Office, so that we can help you get the right equipment and support to do the work.
There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the scheme directly from the Community Warden at 7.30pm at the Social Club on Friday 8th November.
